DESCRIPTION OF THEME

The digital age is here. Most organizations feel the rapid pulse, stimulated by digitalization. In an endeavor to maximize the value they create, organizations are digitalizing their activities and embracing digital technology, which is consequently becoming their integral component. Digital products and processes have evolved over time, from organizational tools into an essential part, the ‘connective tissue’ of organizations. Nowadays, organizations operate and communicate digitally. Social media, cloud computing, mobile technology, and big data analysis are the technologies changing organizations at their core. All this necessitates that the traditional topics from the domain of strategic management be viewed from a different perspective, with the aim to discover solutions for the challenges organizations are facing today. Digital strategy, digital innovations, digital sales, digital services, digital products, and digital supply chains are topics that are no longer in the shade. Nowadays, they are in the spotlight.
